Provence Luxury Bike Trip

190kms - 500kms  ❖  2,500m - 4,500m  ❖  5 nights/6 days  ❖  from 2,499€ pp.

We have created a fantastic ride through Provence for leisure or active cyclists, with one or more of the trip nights in a 5 Star hotel. It is your trip budget that determines how much of our luxury hotels you want during your week with TTT. If you are someone who wants a balance between high-end hotels, superb traffic-free cycling, variable ride length, keep reading.

As with all of our trips we can adjust the daily distances to suit you and your group, but on average we ride ± 50 kms per day leaving plenty of time for nice lunches and scenic stops. You can arrive at the hotel with ample time to enjoy the pool, have a massage or just relax with a glass of wine. If there are some in your group that would like to ride more, we have other loop rides that take place in the afternoon, after the group has arrived at the hotel. Or . . . You can cycle completely independent using our “turn by turn” Ride with GPS navigation. Our clients love this!

If the entire group wants bigger or longer rides, that’s no problem. We can ramp up each day to ±100kms. TTT has roughly 40 days of superb riding in our route inventory in Provence. We know that we can find many that you will love to ride!

We can also turn this trip into a shorter four-day or even a longer adventure, and we can adjust this trip so that you have more nights in the 5 star Coquillade if desired.

Provence Cycling - Luxury Ride Difficulty 4/10

Our Provence Cycling week can generally be described as easy to moderate and the daily and optional ride extensions can make it a little tougher in distance and climbing. There is one flat-ish day, while all the rest have some rolling hills. This is definitely not Iowa, Holland or Manitoba and is a van supported trip. We have great E-Bikes if some of you wish to “flatten the hills.” You will not be the first to do so. What is important is that you ride a bicycle in France at least once in your life!

This is also one of our trips where you can change bikes mid-week. If you find that you would like to switch to an E-Bike, we can do that! Of course extra charges apply and bike choice is based on availability.

We also have a one day Gourmet Cooking Class!

If some of your group would like a break from the saddle and spend a day with a well renowned (English-speaking) French Chef, we have an option for you. In the morning you accompany Chef Jean Marc to the local market and select your ingredients for your menus. Return to his house in the Regional Parc of the Luberon to prepare your creations under his guidance. Groups from two are welcome. Ask us for more details.

 Provence Itinerary

Day 1. Cabrières Loop

Meet your guides at the Avignon TGV station (or at your hotel) at 11h00 for your 30 minute transfer to the amazing Bastide de Voulonne (two nights) in Cabrières d’Avignon. We will have a bike fitting and safety session, then we are off to the Fountain de Vaucluse and L’Isle sur la Sorgue, aka the "Venice of Provence."

30 kms (or more if desired).

Day 2: Cabrières Loop 2

The day starts out with a flat warmup ride to Cavaillon, then a beautiful quiet, forested loop ride to the villages of Oppéde les Vieux and Ménerbes. Ride extension available to Lacoste and Goult.

40 - 100 kms

Day 3. Cabrières d’Avignon to the Coquillade.

We change hotels today and ride to colourful Roussillon via Gordes and the Plateau de Vaucluse. One of today’s highlights is arriving at the region’s best hotel. The 5 Star Coquillade. We have one night here and a gourmet meal in the best of their three restaurants. You will be rewarded with an early arrival at the Coquillade, a large spa, swimming pool, tasting cellars and all of this nestled in 90 acres of private vineyards. The real kicker here is that the hotel is also a BMC Bike test centre. You may like this. Aside from the hotel, the ride is something else! Best of the week.

30 - 100 kms

Day 4. Coquillade to Lourmarin

Up and into the "Luberon Naturel Parc" via Lacoste and Bonnieux. We take one of the most scenic and easy climbs of the week that gets us near to the top of the ridge. Options for a straight shot to the hotel pool or more rolling, traffic free roads. The day ends with a stunning gorge and a 10 k downhill (on a slightly busier road). We are in Lourmarin for the next three nights at a great hotel with a pool and a spa.

30 - 100 kms

Day 5. Lourmarin Loop

Short or long loop rides. Flat or hilly. Today we are pedalling around the “Route des Chateaux du Sud Luberon.” Wait until you see our favourite village! Options include a ride to a lake for a swim if the weather is hot or you could just sit in the sun, pool-side in Lourmarin.

0 - 100kms

Day 6. Trip end or Lourmarin Loop ride 2

Departure day. But before you leave spend the morning in one of the best Provençal markets, just metres from your hotel. The market in Lourmarin is very well known and you will not be dissappointed.

Trips that end today have a group transfer to Aix en Provence at noon(-ish). Individual transfers will cost extra.

Otherwise, if you have added another night in Lourmarin you get another beautiful loop ride after the market. Worse things could happen ...

Optional 7th day. Lourmarin to Aix

If you have chosen to ride a 7th day with TTT we have a superb ride from Lourmarin to Aix en Provence. Three little bumps to pedal up and over, then a superb downhill all the way to your hotel in Aix. If you are riding this on a Friday, you get treated to another HUGE market Saturday morning … right in front of your Aix hotel!

It's amazing how the landscape changes on today's ride. Say goodbye to your two-wheeled aluminium (or Carbon) friend in Aix and sip a cool crisp rosé in the center of town with about 10,000 students doing the same. After breakfast the following morning in Aix, your Tour de Provence with TTT c'est fini.

38 -70kms
