We have something that you really should do. A fabulous ride in the Dolomites in North Eastern Italy. The Dolomites were declared an Unesco World Heritage site in 2009 partly due to the rich history and the spectacular scenery found here. The Dolomites are known for being one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world having 18 peaks over 3000m in height. While you are riding uphill with TTT you will have plenty of time to admire the views.

The long version (Expert Week) of this ride is 600+kms and 16,500+meters gained over 5 days of riding. Bear in mind that we can tailor this trip to your wishes; shorter and easier or harder.

This trip can also be modified to include a day or two for riding one or two of the five routes up Monte Grappa and incorporate a stay in Venice at the trip end, which, if you have never been there, it is a must visit. But leave your bike at the airport.

Dolomites Ride Difficulty 10/10.

The week can be a tough one depending on what you actually want to ride. We can start with base routes averaging 80k and +2000m per day or bump that up to 140k and 4300m per day. Shorter and easier are also available and our support van is always nearby.

Day 1. Venice to Feltre

The trip meets at Venice’s Marco Polo airport (VCE) and then we make the 2 hour transfer to our first stop in Feltre at the foot of the Dolomites. Feltre has been around for a while as it was mentioned in Roman writing in 49BC. Our hotel is slightly newer. A short loop ride is available (time permitting) to those wishing to stretch their jet-lagged legs.

+/- 55kms and 1400m.

Day 2. Feltre to Agordo

Andiamo! Off we ride into the Dolomites and to the town of Agordo via the beautiful Lago del Mis and the Passo Cereda. If you add on the Passo Rolle you can make this a huge day.

Base 55kms and 1300m.  With extensions 140kms - 4000m.

Day 3. Agordo to Arabba

Today, three sides of the stunning Sella Ronda and an overnight stop in Arabba. On the Col menu if do the long route are the Pellegrino, Sella, Gardena and the Campolongo Passes. A huge day with massive rewards.

Base 60kms and 1800m. With extensions 150kms and 4700m.

Day 4. Arabba to Santa Fosca

Four more beautiful passes to climb with more stunning views. Today we ride from Arabba to Santa Fosca, at the foot of the Passo Giau. Today’s passes are the Pordoi, Fedaia, Falzarego and the north ramp of the Giau. The Duran and the Staulanza can be added for bragging rights.

Base 60kms and 1800m. With extensions 147kms and 4700m.

Day 5: Santa Fosca to Ravascletto

After a nice warm up on the south ramp of the Passo Giau (that’s a joke!) you ride through Cortina d’Ampezzo then on to the Tre Croce, Tre Cime and the lesser known Sella di Razzo. Tonight’s hotel is in a beautiful secluded area of the Southern Carnic Alps and we are not that far from the former land owners; the Tyrolleans from Austria.

Base 125kms and 3200m. With extensions 145kms and 4000m.

Day 6. Ravascletto to San Daniele de Friuli

Enjoy the first 10k of downhill, because coming up next is the daunting Monte Zoncolan. Feared in the Giro, this is the beast of all climbs in the region. It’s known as “a very demanding climb and one of the most difficult in Europe.” Demanding? Just wait till you start riding this sucker. The last six kms of the Zoncolan average 15%! and max’s out at 22%. And you signed up for this?! Once over the top the rest of the day is easy with only three little bumps and serpentine, car-free roads most of the way down to our final hotel in beautiful San Daniele de Friuli. Victory banquet tonight, you've earned it!

Base 90kms and 2400m. With extensions 136kms and 3500m.

Day 7. Trip end and transfer day (9am). San Daniele de Friuli to Venice
